Tourism in Nepal and its important



                   

Nepal, a very beautiful, renowned for world heritage places for tourists worldwide. Trekking, rivers rafting, pungi jumping, mountain climbing, jungle safari are the more attraction of this country. Therefore the number of tourist are increasing day by day.

The land locked country Nepal is bounded by the Tibet Region of the peoples Republic of China, on the east by Sikkim and West Bengal and on the South and west by the Indian States of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Nepal is second very rich in water resources and mountains. Mount Everest is the world highest mountain and also is home to 8 of the 10 highest mountains on earth.

Tourism Sector plays a vital role for increase the GDP of Nepal. Although the main source of economic sustenance is agriculture, the tourist industry employs around 42% of the total working population of Nepal.

To sum up Nepal in a single sentence is: Nepal is a mosaic of culture, tradition/ adventure/ and its ever smiling people nestled beneath towering Himalayas, beautified by rare flora and fauna.


IMPORTAN OF TOURISM


 1) SOURCE OF FOREIGN CURRENCIES:
 It is widely conceived that Nepal is in extreme need of foreign currencies for conducting development projects and programs. Most important source of foreign currency is tourism. Foreign exchange earning in FY2008/09 had increased by 49.9% totaling Rs27 billion. Tourism has contributed near about 3% in gross domestic product in that fiscal year.

2) EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
One of the most pressing problems of Nepal at present is mounting unemployment. The development of tourism is one of the most practical ways of alleviating this problem through the vision of training on tourist guide and hotel management, a large number of profitable jobs can be made available to the educated youths of the country. Up to 2014, 91 thousand people were received seasonal employment in different tourism sector.


3) DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL COTTAGE AND HANDICRAFT INDUSTRIES:
Tourists roaming at the market place in various parts on Nepal are allured by various beautiful handicrafts products, and many of them purchase some of them at handsome price. As such tourism provides a strong impetus to further development of handicrafts in the country.

4) HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT:
Tourism industry requires more trained and skilled manpower for tour operating, hiking, trekking etc. As tourism industry expands, there is a need to produce a large number of trained and skilled manpower. Hotel management and tourism sector has trained nearly about 27000 person in various specialized services required for tourist.

5) PROMOTION OF TRADE:
This sector helps the promotion of trade. Various goods are produced to fascinate tourists. Some goods are also important. Hence, it helps to boost up foreign trade by creating a situation for foreign trade.

6) CULTURAL EXCHANGE:
  Tourism introduces Nepalese culture and art to foreign countries. It helps to exchange culture to each other. It also changes the traditional concept and introduces the modern thinking and other.

7) INCREASE IN GOVERNMENT REVENUE:
 This sector is also a source of public revenue. Government receives revenue tax, visa fee, royalty etc. Nepal government had got Rs 23 cror 25 lakhs royalties from mountaineering during the year 2013/14. Hence, tourism is also a major source for raising government revenue.
