The agitating health workers in Kanchnapur have agreed to resume the Out Patient Department (OPD) service in Mahakali Zonal Hospital in Mahendranagar from today onwards.The district-based United Trade Union officials and Mahakali Zonal Hospital Chief on Monday agreed to resume the OPD service for one hour from 10 am to 11 am. The health workers had forced the shutdown of all health services expect the emergency service.Nepal Health Workers' Association Unit Chairman, Lok Raj Bharati, said all the other services in the public health office will continue to remain shut as before.The agitation has affected around 11,600 children who have been receiving regular vaccination services.The health workers have been launching various forms of agitation for the past three years demanding inclusion and reinstatement of posts under Section 9 (B) of health Service Act 2053.
