KANCHANPUR - A Nepali national was kil * led when the Indian border security personnel opened fire in Kargildanda area of ​​Punarbas in Kanchanpur district, near the Nepal-India border, on Thursday afternoon. Identified as Govinda Gautam, a resident of Anandabazar of Kanchanpur district bordering on India, was kil * led in the firing, according to an official at the Tribhuvanbasti Area Police Office in the district. Gautam, received bullet inj * uries in firing by SSB personnel, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at CP Hospital located in Dhangadhi, Kailali. The incident happened when Nepali side started constructing a culvert at Ananda Market area that adjoins India on Wednesday. The Indian security forces tried to disrupt the construction claiming the site located in India. Locals intensified protests after the death of their neighbour.They also held a demonstration outside the hospital premises in Dhangadhi. Meanwhile, security personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been deployed in the area to take the situation under control.
