Kashmir, since their independence from the British colonial rule in 1947.


ISLAMABAD, March 23: (Xinhua) - Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday offered dialogue to neighboring India to peacefully resolve disputes, including the Kashmir dispute, which is the main irritant in bilateral relations.

President Hussain addressed the military parade held in the country's capital Islamabad on the occasion of Pakistan's Republic Day to slamming India for what he called its "irresponsible actions and violation of the ceasefire" which he said has posed threats to Pakistan's security.

Both countries declared ceasefire along the Line of Control in the disputed Kashmir region in 2003. "We are ready for dialogue with India to find out a solution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions," the Pakistani president said. He reiterated Pakistan will continue moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir for their right to self-determination.Pakistan and India have fought three wars, two over Kashmir, since their independence from the British colonial rule in 1947.
