Bharatpur metropolis won UML

The vote counting of the local level elections in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City resumed on Monday afternoon, almost two days after it was halted over a dispute between political parties. The counting was disrupted on Saturday after swastika marks on some ballot papers in Ward 17 were found "suspiciously large".

An all-party meeting on Monday decided to continue the vote count except the disputed ballots of the ward. According to Regional Election Officer Ganga Lal Subedi, the election officials continued the counting after the parties reach a two-point agreement. It was agreed to verify the disputed votes with the help of documents prepared by polling officer of that particular election centre, he added. The Nepali Congress representatives had demanded the counting be stopped immediately after finding the suspicious ballots. On Sunday, the Election Commission ( EC) instructed the election officials to resume the vote count. But it could not be resumed as the political parties, except the CPN-UML, refused to participate in the counting process.
