Govinda Gautam, who was shot in a firing by Indian border security personnel in Punarbas of Kanchanpur in far-western Nepal on March 9, died due to excessive bleeding, his autopsy report showed.Gautam had sustained a bullet injury when the Sashastra Seema Bal personnel opened fire in Kargildanda area during a clash between local Nepalis and the border guards. He was declared a martyr by the government and cremated with state honours after an autopsy.According to the Far-Western Regional Police Office Chief DIG Romendra Singh Deuja, the bullet has been recovered from Gautam's body and sent to the Central Police Forensic Science Laboratory under the Police Headquarters in Kathmandu to determine which gun it was fired from.Except that, the report is already ready, Deuja informed.
